In any case, I didn't take their lousy upgrade offer and I will never purchase another product from this horrible scum company for as long as I live. This is an unbelievably awful move and probably grounds for a class-action lawsuit, but I'm not a lawyer.

I can't help but think that was a deliberate move to try and milk more money out of people. They had switched off the licensing servers, then gave paying customers a kneecapped version and told me to just pay to upgrade to DR5 instead. Even though they were selling it up until the release of 10.13 and were advertising it as compatible with the latest version of Mac OS, so it should at least be functional in 10.12.
#CARD RESCUE OPEN SOURCE MAC OS#
This updated version would not work on anything later than Mac OS 10.10. Our data shows that DCF files are frequently utilized by PC users in Italy and popular on. I emailed Prosoft support and they gave me a link for an updated version. GPSoftware developed the DRM Content Format File file type when the Directory Opus was initially released. It couldn't contact the licensing servers. Other great apps like LogMeIn Rescue are VNC Connect (Freemium), UltraViewer (Free Personal), Radmin (Paid) and ISL Light (Paid). The rescue disc is aimed squarely at repairing Windows systems, and includes a wealth of tools to that effect, including antivirus tools to scan your hard drive, anti-malware utilities to clean. The best alternative is mRemoteNG, which is both free and Open Source. It worked up through 10.14 Mojave and I was happy with it. There are more than 10 alternatives to LogMeIn Rescue for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPad. I was able to recover data with it, no problem. When I first bought DR4 years ago it worked great.
